For the last twenty years or so, I’ve had a bit of an obsession when it comes to learning about different cultures, and cultural traditions. This obsession led me to explore different paths over the years. Theology has always been an interest even though I was raised as a Catholic. I no longer consider myself to be religious – I consider myself to be more “open minded with open ended beliefs”.
What does that mean? It means that I have respect for all cultures, practices, ceremonies, traditions – and even new age type religions like Wicca, Witchcraft, and one of my favorites – Native American Shamanism.
I think with Shamanism, I just like the idea of praying to the Earth – to where it all began. To where WE as humans, all began.
Shamanism is one of the oldest forms of spiritual healing known to man kind and dates back approximately 100,000 years to our early ancestors.
While I took a long break from any type of spiritual practice, my heart has been crying out to me to “reconnect” with nature and get back to my roots.
I’ll be writing a lot more about my experiences, research and dreams – yes, dreams.
Dreams are an important part of Shamanism – and as you read more of my posts, you’ll understand why.
