The monsters are in your head (dark poetry)

on

Run, run, little one,
Go hide under your bed,
Run, run, little one,
From the monsters inside your head.

Run, run, little one,
For they prey on your fears,
Run, run, little one,
They will lick your wounds,
But they won’t dry your tears.

Run, run, little one.
The monsters want to play.
Run, run, little one.
For you are their pretty prey.

Run, run, little one.
The monsters are everywhere.
Run, run, little one.
They even hide under the stairs.

Run, run, little one.
They’ll eat you alive.
Run, run, little one.

They’re hiding in plain sight.

The monsters are everywhere.
The monsters are in your head.
