Yesterday, I was feeling a little sorry for myself, so I spent most of the day writing. Before I knew it, the whole day had slipped away from me. I also got some reading done for my 2022 reading challenge and finished another book.
If you want to keep up with my reading list, I’m on Good Reads and have a page here dedicated to my reviews. It’s work in progress.
Bed rest means having plenty of time to read
My knee is slowly coming around. I’m still using my cane and my back hurts like a you know what. If it doesn’t get better by mid-week, I promised my therapist I’d get it checked out. I think it’s just a bad sprain. Not much you can do for that except plenty of rest.
I finally was able to climb in and out of the shower yesterday and washed my hair. It felt amazing. Today, I’m hoping to take out the garbage and check my mail.
And with all that bed rest I’m getting, I’ve been writing like crazy and reading when in bed. I’ve finished so many books this week. I think I’m on my third now. And have moved onto my second short story ebook.
I also have that novel I’m still working on – I’m going to take my time with that one. It’s coming along well and I’m having a lot of fun with writing fiction. The more I write, the more ideas come to me for other books. I hope to release 1-2 e-books each month. That’s the goal anyway.
NEW writing series
I’ll also be sharing a new series for authors and blog writers. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite resources for free or online books and other must have’s. You should see my bookmark tab – it’s getting pretty full of sites! This series will also include writing prompts from time to time. I think it’s good practice. I’m also looking for free online courses that I can take and will share with you.
I’m a fast reader. And a fast writer.
Check out my writing page for more info.
I get lost in writing for hours
Today, I spent the entire afternoon re-writing my first book called When I get to heaven. This short story is very personal to me, even though I use a penname for it.
It’s a story about a girl who is involved in a toxic relationship with the “love of her life.” She has some hard choices to make as her mother comes to her final days of her life.
I hope a few of you take the time to read it and leave some positive reviews. I poured my soul into this book when I first wrote it. I added some more scenes about my relationship that were hard for me to write. Some of it’s embellished for good story telling, but not that much. It’s listed under non-fiction for now. I might change that later.
For a limited time – you can read it for free on Smashwords. A great resource for those who like to read self-published books. Once I get more comfortable with publishing, I’ll move to Amazon. I’d like to build up a following first.
The cover page is a work in progress too – I think the book might still be pending review.
