Summer is here!

It’s a glorious Sunday afternoon here in Alberta. The sun is finally shining and it’s hot enough that I worked on my tan for a bit. I can only handle sitting in the direct sun for about 10-15 minutes at a time. My Danish-Irish skin just can’t handle extreme heat. But I’m trying desperately to get some color in this summer.

I can’t tell you how good the sun feels. I even braved it and went out in a tank top which is something I never do. But I figure that since I’m on the 3rd floor and have a large tree blocking me, anyone who wants to spy on me that high up deserves whatever they get. There’s a lot of traffic during the day so I often wear my headphones to block out the noise.

This morning my sister texted me to see if I wanted to visit with my dad. I knew it would be a short visit. We got about 25 minutes together before he had to go for lunch. But it was amazing to see him and give him a hug. He doesn’t last more than an hour or so. We’re all taking turns to visit him and spend time with him now that we’re able to do so.

Good energy today on my end. Migraine free. I had a lot of weird dreams after I finally fell asleep this morning. Dreams about the house. My old job in the music store. Then I was back in the house and my mum asked me if I was going to find a new job. That’s two nights in a row that I’ve seen her now. My dad was there too, in the background quietly reading the newspaper.

Maybe it was a flashback to my younger years. It’s hard to know.

What I find interesting is that months go by without dreaming of mum. The moment I ask to see her, she appears two nights in a row. I just wish they would last a little longer and I could remember the entire thing. When I wake up now, I just see flashes of memories.

In other news, my sister dropped off an area rug for my balcony. I’ll be heading out there in a bit to get things organized and cleaned up. That will be nice. It’s such a mess and I can’t clean up stains left from previous tenants.

That’s about it for today. Dinner tonight might be take out or just a salad. We’ll see how the day goes.

What are you doing to enjoy this amazing summer weather?

Happy Sunday!
