So, right after I posted yesterday about how cold it was outside I noticed that my condo was freezing. The floor was ice cold which is odd because this unit has an electric heater. It’s usually too warm if anything.
It’ s a good thing I reported the issue last night because it turns out the main heater had a leak last night. Some pipes had frozen from the cold and one unit on the main floor had water leaking into their suite.
That’s my worst nightmare and why I refuse to rent a main floor unit ever again.
I’m sitting here today wrapped up in my fuzzy blanket. It’s down to -50 tonight with the windchill and that’s just too cold to do much of anything.
It was difficult to get up this morning. I was having more delicious dreams with the lovely Tom Ellis last night that I didn’t want to stop. I blame the sleeping meds. I finally crawled out of bed around 1 pm and had my first cup of coffee for the day.
I’m already thinking about what to do for dinner. Left over deli chicken? Nah, I’m kind of tired of that. Maybe I should heat up some chicken pot pie. Or some soup. It’s a comfort food kind of night.
I’m spending the afternoon cozied up watching nature documentaries. That’s about all the energy I can muster up today. They are still working on the heating issues and I may have to get dressed at some point to allow the workers into my unit.
-50 is too cold. The cold is making it hard to think today. Or maybe that’s just my brain on drugs. I can’t be sure. I really should go get some clothes on in case maintenance shows up. Ah, the joys of single living.
Good Reads Challenge
Last night I started listening to Alex Trebek’s book “The Answer is” – he wrote it just before he died. And it’s delightful and a bit sad at the same time. I got about half way through Matthew’s “Greenlights” before giving up. He speaks too fast and he talks in circles. It’s hard to absorb that level of thinking sometimes. While I enjoyed some of the stories, overall it wasn’t for me
So today – I hope to listen to the rest of Alex’s book and get started on Michael J Fox’s book my sister got me for Christmas.
