Daily Art #5 – Rich Brown Textures

Well, it’s almost daily. More like every other day when I don’t write a normal blog post.

I haven’t felt much like writing the past couple of days. My mood has sunk real low due to new restrictions due to COVID. I’m feeling cut off and isolated from my family. But especially my dad. The guilt of not seeing him for over a month is real. My sister feels the same way.

But there’s nothing we can do for now. And so, I turn to art as therapy. I’ve been resting a lot. Watching comfort movies. I even started watching The Crown last night and had some ugly cries because it reminded me so much of my mum. She would have loved that show. But man, someone should have warned me how sad it is.

And so, I’ll leave you with this piece I created last year with Corel Painter.

The original file is an 8×8″ but I re-imaged this print to 8×11″. I always thought it would make for a great journal or notebook cover. I just love the blend of the reds and browns. Or you could even just print this at home, frame it, and hang it on your wall. This is a high resolution image.

If you’re interested in ordering a digital file so you can print this at home, let me know in the comments.
