Open minds – open hearts – and readings

Double posting Tuesday – yes. Indeed. A regular reader commented earlier today that they “enjoyed my posts and humour and missed my daily update posts”.

After complaining that I wasn’t getting any views last night, boom. Suddenly, I got about 20-30 views with one post. So, I guess there is life out there in WordPress land. It seems people are loving personal posts and venting these days more than fitness tips.

Noted. I guess I just need to come up with a healthy balance of different topics to cover? I’ll figure this out.

What I wanted to touch base on really quickly is something that I’ve been toying with for a while. It was a friend who suggested it to me recently as a way to bring in some “funny money” on the side.

I’ve always had an interest in the paranormal and the occult. Horror movies? Can’t get enough of them. I grew up watching the real scary movies of the 70’s and 80’s like Birds, Poltergeist and The Exorcist.

In my younger years, I dabbled in a few areas. I had a real interest in theology and wanted to learn as much as possible. This is around the same time I started playing the organ at the church.

I claim to have “open ended” beliefs when it comes to the spiritual or meta-physical side of things. I keep an open mind to what other people believe – even if it sounds crazy. Like aliens. I totally believe there are green men or disgusting beings like in the movie, Aliens out there.

Anyway. I’m off track.

Back in the day, I bought a Tarot deck and a set of healing runes. I got pretty good at reading from both of them and started offering them to like-minded friends.

The Healing Runes is a faith based deck while the Tarot cards are more about memorizing what a card means and applying it to a certain situation.

I also dabbled in Shamanism over the years which led me to my job working with Indigenous people in 2015. I loved working with the Elders and miss learning about their culture and history.

So, if anyone is interested – for pure entertainment only – I’m offering readings. Head on over to my readings page for details on cost and how it works.

I don’t consider readings to be the work of the devil or evil in any way shape or form. It’s too complicated to get into in one blog post. It’s more about opening the mind and listening to your gut than anything.

No, I don’t have any upside-down crosses, or blood stained pentagrams on my walls.

I’m a pretty normal or average person who just loves to learn about other religions and cultures. Except for maybe my obsession with horror movies. That might not be so “normal” after all.

Insidious scared the crap out of me because a lot of my dreams seem like astral projection. I dreamed I was in India last night walking about larger than life animals that don’t exist in today’s world. It was wild.

So, there. That’s two posts in one day for you. No cooking for today or tomorrow – I have tons of leftovers to wade through. I’ll share some more recipes on the weekend.

Thanks for being here and let me know if you’re interested in receiving a reading!
