WordPress is a weird place – algorithms, stats and more.

I’m not sure I’ll be renewing my site in the spring. I’m finding WordPress to be a really weird place in general.

Last Tuesday, I made a random post about how I was feeling that day and got over 100 views. It wound up being my most popular day in months for views and engagements.

Today, I scheduled two posts that should have posted at 11:30 am and 4:00 pm on the dot – which according to stats, were my two most popular times.

In the past, I followed up with posts on my most popular days and times and wrote similar posts. But nothing happened. No likes, comments, or engagement on those days.

I don’t get it. I really don’t. Really well thought out articles, that are properly formatted and gives a lot of information – gets maybe one or two views now. And a fluff piece, about my daily tracker can get up to 50 views in a given day.

I think I started this blog too late. I used Blogger for years but had very little success with it. I should have switched to WP when it first came available. But I was naive.

And now – I just don’t get it. I’m doing all the right things. But when it comes to predicting what might be the best day for readers – it’s just all over the map.

And four times now – I’ve scheduled a post to appear automatically. Either the post didn’t appear until later – or even though I carefully selected “am” for a posting time, the post reset itself to post at 11:00 pm. So, I missed out.

Anyone else having these problems? Am I doing something wrong? I mean seriously – help a gal out here. I’ve done the research. I’m at a total loss.

For those still here, thanks for reading.

I’m experimenting with tags on this post – just for pure curiosity sake.
